On the night of September 7–8, multiple Russian drones struck the Endurance Horse Sport Club, located southwest of Kyiv. The facility belongs to Yulia Tolpyga, a 3-star endurance riding champion. Seven of nine horses were killed in the attack.
According to a statement from the Ukrainian Equestrian Federation, the herd initially survived the first two drone hits. Security footage shows the terrified horses fleeing toward the training field—where a third drone struck — “like a monster that had been waiting for them." Just the night before, the horses had returned from a competition and were let out to relax in their paddocks. RIP:
Malachita
The mare was set to compete in the Ukrainian Championships with her young rider in just three weeks.
Ra-Nazran
A purebred Arabian stallion and international endurance winner. Yulia found him shortly after the attack—his body still warm.

Ars
A foal and Ra-Nazran’s son. He seemed to be sleeping peacefully nearby. He was still a baby, with a black coat that would one day have turned grey.
Frailey
A kind chestnut mare rescued from Bucha early in the war. The drone detonated right next to her.
Phosphor
The club’s most promising endurance horse. Just a day earlier, he had completed a 40 km ride. He suffered fatal injuries from shrapnel.

Two other horses were also killed. They were found near Bosphor, fatally wounded with broken legs. The Federation writes: "With their drones, the attackers hit a strategic target — because the horses and the training heal our children's souls."
